Nip Ping Pong
new baby rat (first time owner)?
Ok as I said I'm a first time rat owner and I just recently got a baby rat (about the size of a few ping pong balls) she is an albino female and is very hyper and no I can't get a secound one yet my dad refuses to let me.
why does she nip at my fingers when i put them near the side of the cage?
can she eat chocolete (she loves fudge brownies)?
im letting her run around the room right now and shes very very hyper and keeps running up onto my pants and then trys to climb up my shirt and she just did it now and bruxed well she was doing it then nipped at my shirt? why is she doing this?
she doesnt like being held and skitzes out when i try to pick her up =/
is this all normal behavior for a baby rat and whats she trying to say and all?
im really confused =/
Congrats on getting your first rat 
First off, keep on trying to get your dad to let you get another female. They are no more expensive (besides the initial fee to actually pay for it) or more difficult to keep. Its much easier to introduce them when they are younger. She will be happier, healthier, and more outgoing also. A human just cant replace a cage mate with the cuddling, grooming, and playing together that they will do. Ok, off my soapbox.....
She may nip at your fingers because she is used to being fed through the bars of her cage. With all the things we handle daily, our fingers can smell like food when we shove them through the bars. Never feed her through the bars. When she nips say no sharply and flick her teeth gently off. It will usually startle them enough that shell stop, and shell soon figure out that you pet her and talk nicely to her when she is not nipping.
She can have a very small amount of chocolate. I would recommend 1 chocolate chip per week, or at the most twice a week. Chocolate is not healthy in large doses to any animal (a chocolate chip is equivalent to a normal sized dose to a little rat). Always watch closely after giving new foods to your rat. It will be much easier to spot a food allergy or some sort of complication if you introduce different foods separately. Heres a list of forbidden foods for rats:

Females are very playful and excitable, especially young ones. Her running all over the place is completely normal. My females do not like being held either. They would much rather explore, return to me, explore, and on and on. You sound like you have a very normal rat
