STAND UP PADDLE BOARD SURFING

STAND UP PADDLE BOARD SURFING

Stand Up Paddle Board Surfing or "SUP'S" for short, is fast becoming a global sport that in some areas are shouting as the New Global Surfing Phenomenon.

Stand Up paddle Boards became quite popular but, it seems only in Hawaii, as the rest of the world was not overly impressed, and as the '60's moved to the '70's the "Sups" were all but pushed aside by the "short board" era, and a bunch of Aussie's reaping havoc on the world, by winning surfing titles galore, and in Hawaii's own back yard, did not sit well with the Hawaiians.

"SUPS"

The Stand Up Paddle Board or "Sups" as it is called originated in Polynesia, but the Hawaiians took it on as their own and developed it in the '60's. They began with it to instruct large groups of learners and the higher stance gave them a better viewpoint, to sight the pending swells way out the back. The Stand Up Paddle Board used a single paddle with a long handle that was used to great effect to propel them forward, and not much has changed today. However, today pushing 2010, "Sups" have again grabbed a spot in Global popularity and has been suggested by athletes as the total work out fun machine that you can do standing up. In effect it gives you a strong "core' work out. You can do it on still water anywhere, or as a supplement to surfing by Paddle Boarding the surf.

WHAT IS A STAND UP PADDLE BOARD?

What is a Stand Up Paddle Board? They can be best described as over sized surfboards that are fairly fat. but thicker or fatter than some, to offer good flotation. "Sup's" can be "Custom Made" at a hefty price, but most are basic model shop boards, to keep the cost down, and most board makers and surf shops keep a standard or high performance model on hand in the showroom. These models are between, generally 9'6" up to 12'6" in some cases for the larger user, with the smallest size being most popular as a performance model. They also feature padded deck grip with concave or double concave bottoms, with three fins for turn and directional stability. "Sup's" can be used pretty well any where, on the lakes, rivers, or for that big work out, used as the new surf weapon.

SURFING PHENOMENON

This New Surfing Phenomenon, used in the surf for a complete fun work out, is set to explode in a Global fashion by exploring a new way of surfing, and rest assured a Stand Up Paddle Board, are set to be the New Surfing Phenomenon, and change the current idea of surfing forever.

how much weight can a piece of white oak hold up?

i need to know how much a piece of white oak will hold up . 5x5 by 4 feet .

If you are asking about compression strength, like a fence post, it quite large something on the order of 8,000 lbs 853 lbs per sq. inch but if you are supporting the ends and placing a load in the middle then it's on the order of less than 1,000 lbs. However with all woods, and in this case a hard wood, flaws (splitting) or knots etc make the calculation of strength problematical. If you are building something, it's best to consult with a civil engineer, or an architect. See the cite below.

How to use hydroponics?

Right I want to grapes by hydroponics. I have got a plastic chamber with a pump connected to it and I've rigged up some pip to my pump and on the end of my pipe are 360 degree micro sprayers. This all sits into my plastic tub on the lid of my tub I have cut holes so my net cups can fit in. Also I have made my box light type and the sprinler system sprays the roots with water.

So getting more to the question what other things do I need and can you please give me a step by step guide to planting in my hydro system. I know I need rock wool and some root stimulator gel to mix with the water and a light. For my light should I go with blue led light pannel or a standard 40 watt bulb?

So a method on how to plant them and what else I need would be great cheers guys ;)

here's a how to video.

Review: Gateway FHD2401 HD LCD Flat Panel Monitor

Car Body, and Paint?

I'm a do it yourself type of person, change my own oil, tires, lights etc. I recently got into a car accident, and I have PIP. The only thing damaged was my left fender, light, and mirror. I purchased and replaced the light and mirror myself, and but I haven't put in the fender itself even though I've already bought that too. The problem is painting it. I'm not really into esthetics on my car, I'm only into the fact that it runs as it should. I know I can put in the fender since I've already done so (Just to see if it really fit), I just need the paint...sooo the question is....

1)Is it possible to find someone to paint my fender for around $100

if not.....

2)Can't I just buy paint and primer and do it myself? The cars black even though I know there are 1,000 different shades of it, I really don't care if it exactly matches.

Thanks......

Not sure about that, I charge $250 a panel (and thats if its clean), if someone is painting fenders for $75 then that source probably isnt the greatest source to begin with.
If you do not want to spend the money to have it done prof. then find your local PPG paint supplier, or Dupont paint provider. Drive your car down there and have them scan the colour on your vehicle and mix it up in a spray bomb (spray can). I say have it scanned, so they can get the exact shade of black, because even with the correct colour code, the tint could be off, as it probably has faded over the years.
If the new fender you baught is fairly straight and needs no body work, dry sand it with 400 (320 at the lowest) and then wet sand it with 600 before painting. Unless you have bare metal showing, there is no need for the primer, your sanding the fender to prep it for paint. Should you need primer, apply 2-3 light coats and dry sand and wet sand again. You will need wash reducer before you spray, otherwise you may get fish eyes. If you want to avoid purchasing the wash, use Dish washing soap and warm water, make sure you clean it real good, and it is dry before you start spraying. Paint should be appx $30 a can (spray can).
