Who should I start in week 8 of the Nfl? R brown vs jets, m turner vs saints or a peterson agianst the packers?
Lets start by saying that RB line up is killer.... I would normally say peterson but I'm leaning on brown more so this week. And this is why
Peterson.
- Last time he played against the packers 55 yds 1 TD 11.5 points.
- That was at Minnesota, he'll now be playing @ lambeu.
- The packers have already said in this game the gameplan doesn't change even after being shredded by favre last game, stop peterson, blitz alot, make favre beat them.
- If the packers shut AP down which i believe they will the vikings will go to favre, they've been doing it all year, and they will continue to do it.
- Peterson has been catching passes in the last few weeks to ebef up his fantasy numbers.
Brown.
- Last time he played against the jets 74 yards 2 tds 20.8 points
- Same scenerio as peterson last time was @ miami now they go to NY
- The dolphins are a running team, end of story, with chad henney in they will runt he ball all game long, just like in the saints loss last week.
- The fins never NEVER get away from their running game, week in and week out we see it, this is their strength, especially with a rookie quaterback.
Turner
- Playing against a tough looking saints defense.
- Saints did look horrible against the run in the first half last quater but really picked it up in the second.
- I would simply consider him your 3rd best choice in this situation
In the end i expect ap to have a good fantasy day 80-110 yards a TD, the only thing I worry about is the def he's playing against. Not the best def since changing to the 3-4 still getting used to it, but they game plan to stop ap, and they don't get away from it, even if favre throws for 500 yards in that game they'll keep their secondary in man coverage cause they have that much faith in them, this match up is really more setting up for either brett favre having a huge day, or the greenbay secondary/pass rush having a huge day.
Ronnie Brown I think is a safer bet, the dolphins don't get away from the run they pound all game long to protect that rookie qb from turning over the ball, I feel ronni brown will have a better RUSHING day than ap 120 yds a 2 td day.
The hard part for me is deciding they play AP before brown because of the fact that ap does tend to catch far more passes than brown does, and in a game where green bay is going to try to shut down his running game, minnesota may move to screens to get him involved and in that respect he may over pass brown, he did get 4 catches for 60 yards last week.
In the end I feel ap edges out brown by a little cause he MIGHT get mroe production, though I feel brown is the SAFE consistant bet, I am mmore of a big gain player so I like to take the back that could have a big game so AP for me.
